Meet The Team: Our mission at South Shore Lock & Key is to serve our neighbors with excellence and integrity in all their locksmithing needs, and we know that true integrity requires relationship, which is why we’re proud to have been your local neighborhood locksmiths building trust in the community for over a decade now. Even through a name change, the expansion of our services, and the growth of our team, we have remained committed to providing our customers with the personal, professional service that was the seed of our company from the very beginning.
As mentioned above, our team has grown considerably over the past year, and we wanted to take some time for you to be able to meet the team.
MEET THE TEAM: TROY
In 2013, Troy purchased a used car that came with only one key. Recognizing, as many people do, that having one key for your vehicle is both inconvenient and risky, and after discovering that car dealership key prices were exorbitant and that alternative solutions were in short supply, he envisioned starting his own business to address this prevalent problem. He found a small hardware store going out of business and bought all of their key equipment and shortly thereafter, he began taking courses in locksmithing; thus was the beginning of “Affordable Auto Keys.”
Fast-forward to today, with four service trucks now on the road, a storefront location open, and four full-time employees working alongside him, Troy has taken on much of the residential and commercial side of South Shore Lock & Key’s work, including helping to secure entrance and exit doors for businesses, rekey new homes for our customers, and install updated electronic lock systems, along with taking care of much of the behind-the-scenes operations of the business; so if you call us for help on your home’s security, it may be Troy’s smiling face you see!
MEET THE TEAM: PAUL
Part owner and road tech Paul first began to take interest in the field of locksmithing while working at his uncle’s hardware store as a young teen. He began with simple house key duplication, but as the demand for duplicate car keys grew, and as Paul took more and more of an interest in the field, he began to study the field of advanced transponder programming and found in doing so that he took to it quite well.
After a few years in the business of car keys, he joined up with Troy Albee and became co-owner of Affordable Auto Keys, which he instantly elevated with his expertise in automotive locksmithing and unique focus on European car key systems.
Today, he continues to spearhead finding solutions to the most complex automotive locksmithing problems, along with working diligently to grow the commercial and residential sides of the business with such advancements as wifi and smart locks and other new security technology.
MEET THE TEAM: TOMMY
Our road tech Tommy’s locksmithing journey began working at his uncle’s hardware store making duplicate house keys and simple car keys. After a few years doing this, he came on with South Shore Lock & Key, where he is able to handle more complex key duplication, including all keys lost situations. He is also being trained in the residential side of the business.

MEET THE TEAM: JOSIAH
Our road tech Josiah’s locksmithing journey began in 2019 when he started with Affordable Auto Keys After a few months of training, he came into his own as a locksmith and was taking on duplication of Asian and American car keys, as well as making car keys from scratch when the keys were lost.
After a few years in the company, Paul began to train him on European car keys, module programming, and some aspects of the residential side of the business, and he is glad to be a well-rounded tech with over six years under his belt with the company.
MEET THE TEAM: ISAAC
Our shop tech Isaac began locksmithing when he joined South Shore Lock & Key in early 2025. He specializes in car and house key duplications and serving our customers in person, via email, and over the phone with a smile and a can-do attitude. If you visit our store location at 386 Columbia Road, Unit 1, in Hanover, MA, his will be the happy, smiling face you’ll encounter.
